Ginjinha is very much considered to be part of Lisbon’s heritage and culture. The drink is served in small shot glasses and either sipped at a small counter or outside the doorway on the street. Tourists will often be offered their Ginjinha in a small chocolate cup, which ads a little extra to the flavour and if you are lucky a whole cherry from the bottle will reach the bottom of your cup!
A shot of Ginjinha is very affordable, usually between €1.50 - €2.00 and you can try it at any time of the day, morning, noon or night, just like a Lisbon local.
